About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Assessment and Sustainability team as the Director of Assessment Practice. This is a key leadership role that will drive the development and implementation of assessment policies and practices to ensure transparent and efficient processes for State Significant Projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of assessment policies and practices to ensure transparent and efficient processes for State Significant Projects.
  • Guide teams within the department to deliver fair and timely assessments, while driving best practices and system improvements.
  • Navigate complex and politically sensitive issues with limited information and diverse stakeholder views.
  • Manage competing interests from various groups, ensuring the department's policies remain consistent, efficient, and effective.
Requirements
  • Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working within the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, related policies and guidelines.
  • Significant knowledge of the workings of government and in-depth knowledge and experience working with applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Significant experience at a senior executive level managing large and complex resources to achieve key organisational objectives.
