Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The University of Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences. As a key member of our research group, you will work on a project funded by the Tiny Blue Dot Foundation, focusing on the neural mechanisms underlying psychosis across different stages of illness.
This role involves extensive use of brain imaging techniques such as OP-MEG and fMRI, as well as computational modeling, while engaging with individuals with schizophrenia and those at risk. You will collaborate with leading researchers, oversee student projects, and contribute to data analysis and manuscript writing, all while upholding the School's values and policies.
Your Responsibilities
* Assist and coordinate the computational modeling components of the research project
* Assist and coordinate the preparation of ethics applications and related research protocols
* Assist and coordinate data collection activities (e.g., preparation of data collection materials, recruitment of participants)
* Train research staff (e.g., research assistants, students) on relevant operational and data collection activities
What We Offer
The successful candidate will have a strong background in computational modeling and brain imaging data analysis, particularly with M/EEG and MRI, alongside experience in working with Schizophrenia/Psychosis data, and demonstrated effective supervision of honours and PhD students. They will demonstrate high independence and flexibility in responding to changing priorities, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration, and show a desire to build a career in cognitive neuroscience.
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
