Job Title: Lead Child Welfare Professional
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead our team in providing high-quality child welfare services.
The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of culturally safe, trauma-informed care practices that ensure the well-being of children, youth, and families. Key responsibilities include managing intake, assessment, and care planning processes, supervising and mentoring support workers and practitioners, collaborating with families, carers, and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with child protection legislation and best practice, promoting culturally safe services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, contributing to continuous improvement and service innovation, and participating in after-hours and on-call support as required.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage Intake, Assessment, and Care Planning Processes: Ensure that all assessments are conducted in a timely and thorough manner, and that care plans are developed in collaboration with families and relevant stakeholders.
- Supervise and Mentor Support Workers and Practitioners: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to support workers and practitioners to enhance their skills and knowledge in delivering culturally safe, trauma-informed care practices.
- Collaborate with Families, Carers, and External Stakeholders: Foster strong relationships with families, carers, and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support is provided to children, youth, and families.
- Ensure Compliance with Child Protection Legislation and Best Practice: Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines to ensure that all services delivered meet the highest standards.
