
Automation Specialist Lead

This role provides leadership and direction for Quality Engineering methodologies, including Test Automation, Performance Engineering, Service Virtualisation and Quality Analytics.
- Provide overall leadership and strategic planning for Quality Engineering teams.
- Manage testing scope of delivery for one large or multiple projects within a program.
- Support the development of tools, processes and practises to industrialise them into a regular delivery cycle agnostic of delivery methodology.
- Identify required resource needs specific to each engagement.
- Define and influence the ongoing QE solution process for all delivery engagements after uplift.
- Execute Agile based Quality Engineering solutions.
- Manage performance of Suppliers within Projects/ Practices that they are accountable for to agreed KPIs and targets.
- Work with suppliers to optimise performance and mitigate risks.
- Provide governance of the testing delivery including reporting (time, cost, quality and productivity) using the tools across Projects and Practices.
- Work with competency leads and tooling specialist to uplift policies, process, frameworks and tools.
- Take ownership of regression suites in ST, and or in SIT for the projects/ programs or practices that they are managing.
- Manage budget / effort / timeframes vs actuals and deliver regular status reporting.
- Lead, motivate, coach and develop team/s to enable them to succeed in all aspects of their role, through both people leadership and technology/thought leadership.
- Automation expertise across commercial and open-source tools, including Tosca experience and experience with qTest is a must have for this role.
- In depth testing automation skills, including Tosca experience and other commercial and open-source tools as well as experience with OpenText SV or similar service virtualisation tools.
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills to simultaneously direct, inspire and lead multiple Quality teams in a dynamically changing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of strategic development and implementation of Quality Engineering solutions (Automation Frameworks, Performance Validation).
- Excellent vendor management to ensure they are held accountable for to agreed KPIs and targets.
- Project and test delivery management experience, with the ability to provide reporting, provide governance across testing, and build stakeholder relationships to influence across all levels of the business.
- Knowledge of Quality Engineering tools, CI/CD, TDD, BDD and agile methodologies.
- Understanding how to shape/estimate new work and manage change through delivery using established frameworks.
- Release management experience, proven ability to work with a Release team.
- Track record and ability in delivering quality outcomes.
- Experience coaching integrated teams including developers to ensure systems are designed for reliability, performance and testability.
