Role Overview

The role of Disability Equity Adviser is a critical position within the Partnerships Platform. The incumbent will provide technical expertise and support to ensure that program implementation addresses disability outcomes, resulting in inclusive and equitable outcomes for the Partnerships Platform program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage local networks to contribute to programs' support to partner countries, progressing reforms and policies that promote disability inclusion.
  • Provide strategic advice and services to enable supported development activities, programs, services, and approaches to be more inclusive of persons with disabilities.
  • Deliver technical assistance and capacity development support to strengthen the capabilities of technical advisers to target and mainstream disability equity across their workplans, aligned with partner government priorities.
  • Develop and deliver training, mentoring, coaching, and technical assistance activities to enhance the Partnerships Platform's program delivery and support DFAT Posts.
Requirements
  • A driven and knowledgeable professional with a background in international development, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in disability equity audits, training delivery, and inclusive development, particularly within Pacific contexts.
  • Ability to build institutional capacity and apply diverse capacity development approaches.
  • Possession of skills to support small island developing states and a passion for embedding disability inclusion into budgeting and broader development strategies.
