About this role

As a Utilities Design Manager, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing the successful management and delivery of critical utilities infrastructure projects. Your key responsibilities will include ensuring utilities risks are mitigated, managing relationships with utility companies, and optimising time and cost positions.

About the team

You will be working closely with a cross-functional team to integrate utilities strategies across various packages and contracts. Your collaboration and communication skills will be essential in providing support for utility-related issues across your projects.

Key responsibilities
  • Conducting Subject Matter Expert (SME) reviews on utility-related design submissions
  • Coordinating utility designers, surveyors and Utilities Digital Engineers to effectively manage the utility scope
  • Managing the delivery of utilities site investigations and early works packages, including utilities designers and contractors
  • Identifying opportunities for time and cost improvements in the utilities element of Project Works
  • Escalating utilities issues and concerns to senior management as early as possible
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in utilities infrastructure projects
