Leading a Nursing Team:

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of nurses towards achieving exceptional patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving clinical excellence, strategic outreach, and community engagement. They will build strong relationships with referrers, specialists, and partner services to enhance patient access and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership and management to nursing staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical service planning and management.
  • Collaborate with referring clinicians and services to streamline patient pathways and promote high-quality patient care.
  • Establish performance goals with the team and facilitate their achievement.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff.
  • Work closely with marketing and liaison teams to support education and awareness campaigns.
  • Drive and lead project initiatives, participating in project groups as required.
  • Support staff in education, research, and development opportunities.
  • Be proficient in electronic clinical prescribing systems.
  • Champion a patient-centric approach by promoting teamwork, empathy, and shared decision-making.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between clinical teams to optimize treatment and patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Registration as a Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Experience in leading a team and managing people effectively to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or experience in management or healthcare administration.
  • Experience in Radiation Oncology.
  • Ability to facilitate change management.
  • Ability to create an environment that develops staff potential.
