**About the Role**:
The Year 7 and 8 Head of Year will lead the academic engagement, wellbeing and behaviour of the Year 7 and 8 cohort under the supervision of the Deputy Principal (Year 7 and 8) and in collaboration with Faculty Heads, teachers and support staff. The Head of Year will nurture relationships between students, teachers, parents and stakeholders. As a key member of our School Leadership Team, you will enact our school improvement agenda to maximise student outcomes for students in Year 7 and 8.

  • Provide leadership and guidance for implementing innovative measures to improve student learning outcomes and attendance.
  • Develop management and engagement strategies including induction activities for new arrivals that consider their specific needs.
  • Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop intervention strategies addressing their needs in partnership with parents, staff and external agencies.
  • Work with the school leadership team, Heads of Departments, Year Level Coordinators, Guidance Officers and teachers to utilise tools for student achievement and attendance.
