About the Job

As a key member of our Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC) team, you will play a vital role in optimising truck fleet performance at our central Queensland operations from the heart of the Brisbane CBD.

This dynamic and fast-paced environment offers exceptional career growth opportunities, and as a remote operations Mine Controller, you will work closely with our onsite operations teams and liaise with other controllers to maximise production at our operations and across the coal value chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Production Schedule: Collaborate with operational teams to achieve production targets in accordance with the plan.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and foster positive relationships with site operations, including travel to mine sites.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with operational benchmarks and reduce variance.
  • Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate across teams to implement improvement initiatives.
  • Coal Supply Chain Exposure: Gain exposure to the whole coal supply chain, working with other IROC teams to optimise interfaces.
  • Cutting-Edge Technology: Participate in cutting-edge machine learning programs to improve CHPP quality management.
  • Truck Fleet Management: Manage and optimise the truck fleet to support safety, production, and cost outcomes for the business.
  • Shift Roster: Work a 12.5-hour shift roster, rotating day and night shifts, from the heart of the Brisbane CBD.
About You

We are seeking a motivated individual who can use their relationship building and negotiation skills to influence others and achieve desired outcomes. The successful candidate will display a commitment to personal and team safety, a calm disposition under pressure, an enthusiasm to learn, full of initiative, and a drive for performance.

The ideal candidate will have experience using a fleet management system, preferably CAT MINESTAR, and possess strong analytical skills, including the ability to define causes and build rectification plans. Operational, planning, or engineering experience in a mining environment or an industry with transferable skills is highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits

We offer an attractive salary package with performance-based bonuses and a unique BHP employee share program. Our estimated annual salary range for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
