Mining Project Controls Director

Role Overview
">This position involves leading a dedicated project controls team to support the Project Controls Manager & Project Managers in monitoring and reporting all schedule, plan and cost/budget related matters.

- You will be based in our WSP Brisbane office and work on interesting and complex projects.">
- Develop tender schedules, scopes of work and project control budgets.">
- Provide cash flow estimates and manning histograms for proposal submissions.">
- Participate in tenders process documentations.">
- Develop project schedules and estimates from first principles.">
- Gather information from discipline leads or third parties.">
- Develop budgets in line with project estimates and WBS.">
- Prepare baseline schedules and develop the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).">
- Resource load the schedule and obtain client approval.">
- Prepare or use existing templates for various reports (monthly, weekly, management, ad hoc).">
- Day-to-day management of cost forecasting, budget control, reporting, change management, and resources.">
- Support accurate and timely reporting of cost, schedule, and budget performance.">
- Ensure budget forecasts, progress monitoring, cost reporting, and corrective actions meet project requirements.">
- Manage and monitor operational and project expenditures.">
- Provide visibility to delivery teams and senior management.">
- Monitor schedule impacts on project performance and provide recovery plans.">
- Track and report Earned Value, Cost Performance Index (CPI), and Schedule Performance Index (SPI).">
- Review and update cost to complete, cost at completion, remaining budget, and work in progress.">
- Assist with progress claims, invoices, purchase orders (POs), project change notices (PCNs), and variations.">
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.">
- Lead project control team.">
- Support and mentor team members.">
- Manage Team Project Controls function and deliverables.">
- Manage personnel workload and resource requirements.">
- Oversee the project portfolio, ensuring continuous performance monitoring and proactive risk identification.">
- Ensure alignment with WSP guidelines and procedures.">
- Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement.">
About You
">- ">
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.">
- MUST have extensive experience in project control, with a proven track record in managing complex projects and or Project controls teams. With focus on design, study and execution of mining projects (preferred).">
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in project management software, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong leadership abilities.">
- Software's: Expert knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project. Familiar with Power Bi, cost control management tools.">

">We offer an estimated salary of $AUD 120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
