Job Title:

Avoiding Disengagement through Empowerment


Description:

The role involves supporting the delivery of a program aimed at empowering young people. Working closely with a designated manager, you will assist in mentoring and engagement activities for individuals aged 10–17 who are considered to be at risk.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Mentoring Support:
    • Deliver one-on-one mentoring sessions and group workshops designed to support life skills development.
    • Act as a positive role model and engage participants in supportive ways.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Bilateral relationships must be formed between the team and stakeholders including families, local organizations, and other supporters.
  • Logistics and Reporting:
    • Prepare resources and coordinate logistics necessary for session setup.
    • Gather data on attendance and participant feedback for reporting purposes.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Essential:
    • Must have experience working with at-risk youth or related fields.
    • Strong interpersonal skills necessary for building rapport and trust.
    • Familiarity with cultural safety principles is required.
    • Ability to adapt within flexible work environments.
    • Certification for child protection (Blue Card) or eligibility to obtain.
  • Desirable:
    • Prior experience in youth programs, community service, or sports-based programs preferred.
