Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with human rights principles and supports community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Develop and deliver programs addressing the health and wellbeing of young people in detention, promoting reintegration and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Provide resources, language support, and role modelling to meet the learning needs of young people.
  • Deliver programs aligned with the youth detention philosophy and interface effectively with centre operations.
  • Liaise with operational staff to deliver programs and prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and correspondence as required.
  • Oversee stock movement and inventory management, maintaining safety and security requirements and records of program attendance.
  • Collaborate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in delivering programs and services to clients.

This role requires a commitment to developing cultural capability and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for young people in detention.
