Job Description

Maintenance Handyperson Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Handyperson to join our team at Elizabeth House, our specialist residential and dementia care home in Poole, Dorset.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a varied range of building maintenance and repairs throughout the property to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our elderly residents.


Responsibilities
  • Carrying out routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure smooth operation of the home.
  • Responding to emergency calls to address urgent maintenance issues.
  • Performing general repair work including plumbing, heating, electrical, decoration, fire testing, care equipment and carpentry.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar role or relevant trade qualification.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues and residents.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
