Mechanical Fitter - Pump Specialist

• We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team as a Pump Specialist.">
• The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, commissioning and repairing slurry pumps, valves and hydrocyclones in the Goldfields Region and greater WA mining region.">
• This role involves on-site mechanical repairs and inspections, ensuring efficient operations and workshop repairs can continue smoothly.">
• The Pump Specialist will report to the Service Manager, Pumps, and work closely with the team to achieve excellent results.">
• This position is located in Kalgoorlie and would suit a local resident. Domestic relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.">

Key Responsibilities:

• ">
• Install, commission and repair slurry pumps, valves and hydrocyclones at customer sites and in the Kalgoorlie service facility.">
• Support Metso Pump Trials in the field and conduct hands-on service work such as adjustments, installation and operation of pumps.">
• Write reports on completion of every field service job and conduct investigations of customer failures regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered conditions of products.">
• Contribute to technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures to identify solutions.">
• Solve practical on-the-job problems and provide solutions to customers and mechanical crews.">
• Promote company repair and service capabilities and obtain ongoing works.">
• Promote the sales and usage of MO wear and spare parts.">
• Identify sales opportunities for pumps and hydrocyclones.">

Requirements:

• ">
• Experience with maintenance and/or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps.">
• Mechanical trade qualification with at least 2 years' experience - recognised in Australia.">
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.">
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.">
• Good written and verbal communication skills.">
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organisation.">
• Hold a current motor vehicle license and be able to pass random medical and drug tests.">
• Physically fit.">
• Ability to travel with short notice.">
• Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.">
• Rigging and dogging qualifications.">
