Emergency Operations Manager

This is a challenging and dynamic role that involves overseeing operations at Oakey station. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of personnel, equipment, and planning to meet Defence capability requirements.

The Emergency Operations Manager will lead teams to maintain high operational preparedness for emergency scenarios, allocate resources effectively, and drive safety, environment & health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensuring high operational preparedness for immediate response to contracted emergency scenarios
  • Allocating resources, including personnel, fleet, equipment, and training, to meet contract objectives
  • Fostering an inclusive working environment through employee engagement and service excellence initiatives
  • Building relationships with Defence Service Personnel, leadership, and industry partners to promote Ventia Fire and Rescue
  • Leading a culture of compliance and driving safety, environment & health outcomes by role modelling LEAD behaviours
  • Contributing to redefining service excellence in emergency response services
Requirements
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance requiring Australian citizenship
  • Diverse experience in dynamic operating environments
  • Prior experience in emergency management or complex service delivery
  • Graduate or Post Graduate qualifications in Business Management
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in leading people programs, recruitment, training, and change management
  • Commercially astute and strategic thinking with experience in workforce planning, financial reporting, SHEQ, and governance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
