Payroll Specialist

This role involves working closely with a business unit to execute weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay runs accurately and on time. The successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience as a payroll specialist in a medium to large sized organisation.

Responsibilities:
  • Weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll processing, including off-cycle pay runs.
  • Partnering with the business unit to develop an understanding of roles, awards and pay complexities.
  • Analysis and audit of all payrolls to ensure legislative and award compliance.
  • Participating in system upgrade projects and continually improving payroll processes.
  • Liaising with HR on employee appointments, terminations, remuneration, etc.
  • Performing a variety of other ad hoc payroll duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years proven experience as a payroll specialist in a medium to large sized organisation.
  • Strong experience in EA / Modern Award interpretation.
  • Experience with medium size payroll and time and attendance systems like Ceridian (Preceda) and Kronos.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Intermediate Excel and Outlook experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, developing strong partnerships with various stakeholders, and contributing to process improvements. Successful candidates will possess relevant work experience, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of legislation and regulations.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll management.
  • Knowledge of modern employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with payroll software and systems.
