Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Compartment Completion Specialist to join our team based at the SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard, reporting directly to the Compartment Completion Manager. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the progressive completion and delivery of our programs to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive compartment and tank inspections, documenting identified issues and analyzing emerging trends.
  • Support the Compartment Completion Manager to maintain the compartment completion schedule.
  • Organize inspection activities with multiple stakeholders, developing strong relationships with customer representatives.
  • Support Area Managers for the management and deconfliction of activities in accordance with the Ship Plan of Day (SPOD).
  • Support the management of safety, quality, trade resourcing, risk, and opportunities for the compartment completion scope.
  • Ensure effective communication is maintained with Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Advisors.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of compartment completion progress, ensuring all inspections and documentation are in place and up to date.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or trade qualification with experience relevant to shipbuilding.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in inspection in relevant shipbuilding disciplines.
  • A confined space certificate or the ability to obtain one.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong background in conducting inspections with inspection qualification highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the business.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and ability to learn relevant software packages used on HCF.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
