Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished technical professional to join our team in Victoria. As a key member, you will be responsible for leading technical and commercial initiatives on local and national power projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, excellent leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of substation design and primary systems up to 500kV.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute transformative projects that shape the Victorian electricity transmission system
  • Lead project and design management teams
  • Design substation infrastructure for power utility projects, including creation of engineering reports, documentation, and drawing packages
  • Ensure the quality of substation designs and engineering, overseeing design teams comprising engineers and drafters
  • Prepare proposals and bids for projects
  • Maintain effective relationships with clients through business development
  • Invest in the development of team members, promoting their growth and success
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to manage project resources, development, and delivery
Qualifications
  • A minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering (RPEV required)
  • Ideal candidates have over 10 years of industry experience, preferably in consulting or power utilities, with expertise in substation design for primary systems up to 500kV
  • Demonstrated professional judgment and commercial acumen, including problem-solving skills within briefs and budgets
  • Good understanding of the energy industry and National Electricity Market mechanics
  • Experience in building and managing high-performing teams
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards related to HV substation design and primary plant technologies
  • Advantageous to have experience working with power utilities on their projects
  • Knowledge of substation construction and commissioning methodologies
