Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Financial Leader to join our dynamic Finance team in Sydney. As a strategic financial partner to senior management, you will oversee critical financial operations across diverse portfolios.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis to support informed decision-making
  • Leading the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles, working closely with department heads to ensure accurate financial planning
  • Monitoring and managing daily cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital optimisation across all business units
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (AASB) and tax obligations, while maintaining internal controls
  • Supervising and mentoring junior finance staff, fostering professional development and maintaining high-performance standards
  • Collaborating with operational teams to provide financial insights, cost analysis, and support for business development initiatives
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Requirements

  • CA/CPA qualification with 5+ years of financial leadership or senior finance experience
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems)
  • Expert-level Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards (AASB) and taxation requirements
  • Proven experience in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Previous experience in media, publishing, or similar fast-paced industries preferred
