Transport Operations Lead Role

This critical position oversees and coordinates transport operations to meet key performance indicators, customer expectations, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating weekly labour and vehicle requirements, liaising with customers for accurate load planning and delivery scheduling, supervising daily transport activities, training and mentoring staff, monitoring fleet maintenance, and maintaining records and reports.

  • Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of customer products while adhering to highest safety and compliance standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiencies, safety, and employee engagement.
  • Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in transport management, logistics, and supply chain.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management within the transport sector or willingness to learn and grow.
  • Strong understanding of transport compliance, cost control, and operational efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle Law and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
  • Ability to analyse and optimise transport processes for continuous improvement.
