Procurement Officer Job Description

The Procurement Officer will support the delivery of a major project by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chase up quotes for construction materials from suppliers and negotiate prices where possible.
  • Raise purchase orders and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Check availability and lead times for materials, coordinating pickups and deliveries with logistics teams.
  • Maintain an accurate record of all materials received and distributed, including storage and inventory management.

Requirements:

  • Safety conscious with experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Proven track record in procurement or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
