Job Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing one-on-one support to individuals with Parkinson's Disease and other disabilities in their daily lives.

Your role will involve assisting with personal care, mobility support, medication administration, therapy exercises, and community engagement, ensuring participants maintain their independence and quality of life.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Disability Support Workers who have worked with individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to individuals with Parkinson's Disease, focusing on mobility, daily living, and personal care.
  • Assist with medication prompting and administration as per care plans.
  • Support clients with exercise programs and therapy-related activities recommended by allied health professionals.
  • Encourage social and community participation to improve mental well-being.
  • Help with meal preparation, household tasks, and transportation where required.
  • Monitor and document health conditions, changes, and concerns, ensuring clear communication with healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Adhere to NDIS compliance, safety policies, and person-centered care principles.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with Parkinson's Disease (essential).
  • Knowledge of mobility aids, fall prevention strategies, and Parkinson's-related care needs.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).
  • First Aid & CPR Certification (or willing to obtain).
  • Manual Handling, Medication Administration, and Parkinson's Disease-specific training (preferred).
  • Driver's License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication, patience, and a person-centered approach.
