Senior Researcher Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of cutting-edge proteomics and RNA based assays to support a precision medicine program for rare neurological diseases. Under broad direction, they will oversee workflows for a research team, lead outputs to meet objectives and milestones, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory-based research activities under broad direction to meet objectives and milestones in a major research program.
  • Produce high-quality outputs including reports, presentations, journal articles, conference and seminar papers, and materials that support key deliverables in drug discovery projects.
  • Supervise employees and support career development of team members.
  • Maintain relationships and collaborate with researchers internal and external to the organisation.
  • Attend, lead or contribute to professional activities including conferences, seminars, committees and panels.
  • Model and promote organisational values.

This is a fixed term, full-time appointment with a contract ending on 30 September 2025. The role offers an annual salary range commensurate with experience.

About You:
  • Doctoral qualification in biochemistry or related field.
  • Demonstrable professional achievement in the field of research.
  • Extensive experience and expertise with qPCR and digital PCR.
  • Experience in mass spectrometry and protein quantitation and detection techniques.
  • Experience with short and long-read RNA sequencing techniques.
  • Significant postdoctoral experience in related field of research.
