Mental Health Nursing Role

This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of Australian Defence Force personnel. As a Mental Health Registered Nurse, you will work with a multidisciplinary team of medical and allied health professionals to contribute to positive mental health outcomes.

You will be responsible for performing intake assessments and risk assessments, providing crisis intervention, planning case formulation and treatment planning, providing programmatic treatment interventions, planning care coordination, assisting with medication management, and conducting group psycho-education.

About the Role

The role is currently casual, with shifts Monday to Friday weekly 7:30am - 4pm. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients and contribute to a dynamic and supportive team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Be credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN); OR minimum qualification of Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing; OR Mental Health trained nurse /United Kingdom trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) Post Registered Nurse general registration experience within the previous 5 years in mental health in a primary health setting or specialist mental health setting
