About the Role

The Sterilization Expert is responsible for overseeing the operational and strategic activities of the Sterilizing Services Department.

This includes creating a departmental culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, employee retention, and development.

Key responsibilities include leading and providing sterilization support to other clinics, units, and areas within the healthcare organization. Additionally, the Sterilization Expert will provide recommendations during the planning stage on new or upgraded sterilization practices to ensure appropriate equipment and resources.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of the processes of the Sterilizing Services Department. They should be able to monitor and manage work priorities to enable adjustments to workflow as required.

Able to lead and develop a team and team members, the Sterilization Expert should possess interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills. Management experience in a collaborative workplace is preferred.

The role requires excellent computer skills in a Windows environment, as well as demonstrated knowledge of various employment practices and employee relations.
