Protecting and promoting animal welfare is a vital part of our community's fabric.
The Animal Care Facility plays a crucial role in safeguarding the lives of abandoned, neglected, lost, and surrendered animals.
We strive to provide a safe haven for these animals, with the ultimate goal of finding them permanent, happy homes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation and management of the facility.
- Effectively manage a team of animal shelter attendants and volunteers.
- Implement animal management controls that prioritize reuniting companion animals with their owners, rehoming, and boarding.
- Oversee the daily care and well-being of companion animals on-site, including general husbandry, cleaning, and feeding.
- Support veterinary and health care programs, implement socialization, behavior assessment, enrichment, and training initiatives.
- Promote responsible pet ownership and provide advice to the broader community through surveys, benchmarking, focus groups, public meetings, training workshops, and other resources.
- Manage donation collection, fees, and charges, as well as budgeting and expenditure at the facility, and explore revenue streams to ensure ongoing viability.
