**Job Title:** Afterhours Animal Management Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our animal management team as a dedicated and skilled professional responsible for providing after-hours services to the community. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a sound understanding of animal handling procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This role involves attending on-site situations that require resolution to protect community safety and wellbeing, such as livestock wandering at large, dog attacks, emergency service assistance, and animal welfare complaints.

The successful candidate will be required to:

* Respond to telephone enquiries and provide effective animal management emergency services, including collecting contained stray or roaming dogs, collecting injured animals, and securing roaming dogs.

* Record information to enable subsequent enforcement to follow up, by referring the details to an authorised officer for follow up.

* Maintain records and systems appropriate to the position.

**Key Requirements:**

* Demonstrated experience in animal handling, including the ability to impound stock and follow procedures effectively.

* Good knowledge and skills in the use of computer software, such as Microsoft office and database packages.

* Sound communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.

* Time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.

* Current drivers licence, including ability to handle trailer, floats, stock crate.

* Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
