Job Title: Design Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Spearhead a design team to execute complex projects, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Client Liaison: Foster strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and construction teams to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Financial Acumen: Monitor and control design expenditures using robust tracking systems to optimise budgets and prevent overruns.
  • Design Governance: Ensure all deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards through effective QA processes.
  • Technical Expertise: Direct primary & secondary design, conduct design reviews, and collaborate with external consultants on electrical studies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager similar on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations).
  • Primary design engineering experience.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering).
  • CPEng or working towards it.
  • Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia).
