Our organization is seeking a senior ventilation engineer to play a critical role in the design, optimization, and monitoring of underground ventilation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, optimize, and monitor underground ventilation systems to ensure compliance with Australian mining, tunnelling, and health & safety regulations.
  • Conduct airflow simulations, thermal load assessments, and troubleshoot ventilation and air quality issues across multiple project sites.
  • Provide hands-on technical assistance during excavation, installation, and commissioning, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
  • Lead and mentor small engineering teams, managing deliverables, timelines, and quality while fostering technical growth.
  • Represent ventilation engineering in meetings with stakeholders including clients, joint venture partners, government, and internal teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 8–12 years of experience as a Ventilation Engineer, with at least 3–4 years in Australia; hands-on involvement in tunnelling or mining projects (mandatory, at least one).
  • Proven design, optimisation, and troubleshooting skills for ventilation systems; airflow simulations, thermal load evaluations; strong knowledge of Australian OHS compliance.
  • Practical on-site experience during excavation, installation, commissioning; ability to resolve ventilation-related issues under site conditions.
  • Demonstrated leadership to guide small engineering teams and coordinate with multidisciplinary groups (civil, electrical, mechanical, geotechnical).
  • Proficiency with ventilation simulation and thermal analysis software; ability to prepare technical reports; experience with underground ventilation simulation software and familiarity with WHS standards.
