Job Title: Senior Software Packaging Specialist

Overview

The role of Senior Software Packaging Specialist is a critical position within our organization, focusing on providing key packaging services to one of our largest customers as part of a broader team.

This role requires Australian Citizenship and an active Baseline Clearance due to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Packaging and Repackaging: Responsible for packaging and repackaging software from discovery through to deployment support.
  • Bulletin-based Packaging: Package based on BAU tickets as well as project work.
  • Project Participation: Participate in project planning sessions and project delivery.
  • Documentation Preparation: Prepare documentation for use by Operational staff.
  • Problem Rectification: Analyze and rectify packaging problems.
  • Service Delivery: Leverage enterprise-grade tools, processes, and frameworks to deliver high-quality services in accordance with SLAs.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure outstanding levels of customer satisfaction through timely, professional, and attentive responses.
  • Team Culture Contribution: Operate in and contribute to a high-performing team culture.
  • Service Improvement Identification: Identify service improvements, efficiencies, and/or cost reductions for customers.
  • Methodology Adherence: Follow best-practice methodologies and recognized ITIL processes (e.g., change/release).
  • Mentorship Provision: Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced Datacom staff for ongoing growth.
  • Solution Responsibility: Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions including bid responses, product briefs, projects, PoC management, and training of support staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 Years' Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in the IT industry, preferably in an IT Managed Service Provider environment.
  • Similar Application Packaging Role: Approximately 3 years' experience in a similar Application Packaging role.
  • Packaging Tools Expertise: Exceptional knowledge of packaging tools such as InstallShield, PACE, etc.
  • Operating System Familiarity: Strong knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 11, and macOS operating systems.
  • Endpoint Management Platforms: Skilled in endpoint management platforms including SCCM, Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, and JAMF.
  • Troubleshooting and Communication Skills: Strong troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and prioritisation skills.
  • Autonomy and Adaptability: Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and adapt to rapid change in a dynamic working environment.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel to offices, customer sites, and conferences as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MSIX Packaging Experience: Experience with MSIX packaging and deployment.
