Configuration Management Professional

The role of the Configuration Management Professional is crucial in achieving program outcomes. The primary responsibility is to manage the day-to-day activities of the configuration management process, including the establishment of priorities and work tasks.

Collaborate with the CM Manager and other departments to identify opportunities for improvement and strategic planning.

Manage the configuration management database, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date.

Responsible for controlling change against the approved baseline and embodying changes as approved.

Ensure that all day-to-day tasks are conducted according to the configuration management plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate configuration management activities across various departments.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the configuration management process.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve program outcomes.
  • Manage the configuration management database, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Implement change control processes to ensure compliance with approved baselines.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a configuration management role, preferably with Defence experience.
  • Formal training in configuration management principles, plans, procedures, and processes.
  • Strong management skills and team-building capabilities.
  • Ability to distribute configuration management knowledge to a wider audience.
