Regulating Markets: A Legal Expertise Role

As part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in regulating markets by overseeing supervision, triage, investigation, and enforcement activities.

The ideal candidate will work closely with colleagues to drive investigations and litigation that lead to effective enforcement outcomes. This esteemed role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to ASIC's strategic priorities, underpinning the organization's purpose and vision.

  • Investigate suspected market misconduct and take formal enforcement action in response to breaches of the Corporations Act and Market Integrity Rules.
  • Project manage and contribute to the investigation of suspected misconduct in areas regulated by ASIC.
  • Analyze large electronic data sets using specialized software and draft/serving compulsory notices.
  • Conduct interviews and obtain information from various witnesses, identifying legal issues and providing expert advice during an investigation.
About You:
  • Bachelor's degree in law; admission to the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory as a solicitor or barrister.
  • Proven investigative and analytical skills, with experience planning and managing complex investigations and projects through to successful completion.
  • Ability to analyze and interrogate large, complex data and evidence, with a drive to understand issues and take appropriate action.
