Job Opportunity

The ideal candidate for a Liability Claims Officer position will have the ability to manage Latent & Special Risk claims efficiently, ensuring accurate completion and validation of claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the claims process, ensuring timely completion and validation.
  • Interpret policy coverage and determine if coverage applies to submitted claims, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain good client relationships with insured parties, brokers, investigators, solicitors, and the general public.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards.
  • Initiate and complete recoveries from third parties.
  • Conduct self-audit of claims files to ensure positive internal audits.
  • Respond to enquiries in an accurate, timely, professional, and courteous manner within Privacy guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical claims experience and expertise in managing complex Latent & Special Risk claims is preferred.
  • Strong technical claims expertise in specialty classes of insurance, including managing complex bodily injury, with sound decision-making based on technical, investigative, and medical reports.
  • Proven understanding of underwriting procedures and policy wordings across a diversified liability portfolio.
  • Skilled in engaging and collaborating with external providers such as loss adjusters, lawyers, and consultants.
  • Expert knowledge and practical application of the General Insurance Code of Practice.
  • Effective relationship-building with clients and customers, maintaining confidentiality and resilience.
  • Capable of participating in alternative dispute resolution processes.
