Aboriginal Education Position
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Aboriginal Education Lead. In this newly created leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing culturally appropriate education programs, strategies, and resources to enhance the delivery of healthcare services to Aboriginal patients and communities.
The successful candidate will have a strong passion for supporting and advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and be committed to improving health outcomes for this priority population group.
This is a full-time, permanent role that requires a Bachelor's degree qualification in a Health field or Social Sciences, Public Health, Education, or other relevant qualification. Postgraduate qualifications in Healthcare Education, Leadership, or Public Health are desirable.
You must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to be eligible for this role.
In addition to your clinical experience and qualifications, you will have excellent verbal and presentation skills, as well as demonstrated experience working in public health services and/or Aboriginal community services or education fields.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and interdependently, assume accountability and responsibility for their actions, and be committed to cultural mentoring and safe healthcare practices.
The Aboriginal Education Lead will contribute to policy development, clinical practice guidelines, and research in Aboriginal health access and/or outcomes. They will also collaborate with Aboriginal patient/client and the multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and improved health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement culturally appropriate education programs, strategies, and resources to enhance the delivery of healthcare services to Aboriginal patients and communities.
- To support and advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and improve health outcomes for this priority population group.
- To contribute to policy development, clinical practice guidelines, and research in Aboriginal health access and/or outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree qualification in a Health field or Social Sciences, Public Health, Education, or other relevant qualification.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Healthcare Education, Leadership, or Public Health are desirable.
- Clinical experience and qualifications in public health services and/or Aboriginal community services or education fields.
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
