About the Role

The University of South Australia is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join its STEM faculty as a Lecturer in Water Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and coordinating courses within the undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate programs, as well as contributing to the university's research agenda.

The position will focus on water resources, water quality, climate change, and natural resource management, and the successful candidate will be expected to maintain and develop scholarly research and/or professional activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging, relevant, and technology-enhanced curricula for identified programs and courses as they relate to Water Engineering.
  • Undertake administrative duties related to teaching activities, including the development of course and program material.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching that is informed by relevant research, scholarship, and industry practice.
  • Provide quality and timely feedback, academic counselling, mentoring, and advice to students.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A doctoral qualification in Civil, Water, or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in teaching, including design and preparation of teaching activities and resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake industry-engaged research in areas that contribute to UniSA's research strengths and strategic directions.
  • Understanding of and experience in using contemporary teaching methodologies, including digital techniques.
