Nuclear Engineering Lecturer Opportunity at the University of Adelaide

The University of Adelaide's School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position in Nuclear and/or Maritime Engineering.
This tenure-track academic role will focus on research and education in nuclear engineering, radiation detection, nuclear safety, materials science, plasma/fusion science, thermal-fluids, propulsion systems, and maritime engineering.
We are seeking an expert with a well-established research track record or relevant industry experience, as well as strong passion for teaching and course development.
Responsibilities include conducting research, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, developing courses, and supervising research projects.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of academics working on various aspects of mechanical engineering, including naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, hydroacoustics, modeling and computation, numerical and experimental hydrodynamics, energy technologies, and fluid processes.
We offer a competitive salary package, commensurate with level B ($111,031 - $131,335) or C ($135,388 – $155,696), plus 17% superannuation contributions.
To be successful, you will need:
- A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent
- Demonstrated research ability supporting the school's research strengths
- Record of research achievements and publications in high-quality journals or conference proceedings
- Ability to teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy
- Experience in developing courses and curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
For Level C, additional requirements include substantial research achievements, success in winning research funding, effective teaching, and significant contributions to curriculum development and pedagogical innovation.
