We are seeking an experienced Energy Transition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our commercial solar and battery energy storage (BESS) sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities across the commercial and industrial energy sector.
Your primary objective will be to manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement through to signed contract, delivering tailored solar and BESS solutions that align with client sustainability and financial goals. You will prepare and coordinate compelling proposals, bids, and tenders for solar and energy storage projects, leading commercial negotiations and securing contracts in line with strategic objectives.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including sustainability leads, CFOs, and operational teams, collaborating with engineering, finance, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are technically and commercially viable. Additionally, you will maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline and regularly report on sales performance, monitoring industry developments, competitor activity, and market trends to inform strategy and positioning.
About this role:
- Demonstrated success in business development or sales in the renewable energy, commercial solar, or battery storage sectors
- Experience selling to commercial and industrial clients with a strong understanding of their operational and sustainability drivers
- Skilled in managing complex sales processes including tenders, financial modelling, proposal writing, and contract negotiation
- Ability to communicate complex technical solutions in a clear and commercially compelling way
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with proficiency in CRM systems
- Experience with embedded networks, microgrids, or behind-the-meter energy solutions
- Familiarity with relevant Australian energy market regulations, policy incentives, and renewable energy frameworks
- Background in working within or alongside engineering, delivery, or asset management teams
