Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead innovative projects in distributed energy and drive the clean energy transition. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional with strong knowledge of DER products and integration, passionate about growing expertise and driving the transformation of the NEM power system.

The successful candidate will work alongside a talented team at the forefront of the energy industry's transformation, delivering leading-edge projects and initiatives that address power system challenges from increasing DER. They will lead engineering and analysis to define technical requirements for distributed energy resources (DER), collaborate with industry to develop solutions supporting a power system with high levels of DER, and provide strategic advice for an integrated AEMO approach.

About the Role
  • Lead projects addressing power system challenges from increasing DER, including standards, compliance, and evolving behaviors.
  • Drive collaboration and stakeholder engagement, providing strategic advice for an integrated AEMO approach.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead engineering and analysis to define technical requirements for distributed energy resources (DER).
  2. Collaborate with industry to develop solutions supporting a power system with high levels of DER.
  3. Provide strategic advice for an integrated AEMO approach.
  4. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop technical positions.
  5. Prepare reports, recommendations, and presentations to communicate complex technical issues to executives, boards, and stakeholders.
  6. Provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and support initiatives under the Engineering Roadmap to 100% Renewables.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Technology, Science/Math (power system focus), or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary projects in distributed energy.
  • Skilled in preparing and reviewing high-quality technical documentation and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data.
  • Effective communicator across diverse audiences.
