Forest Fire Monitoring Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and resourceful individual to join our fire operations team as a Forest Fire Monitoring Specialist. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in the early detection and monitoring of fires within our forest plantations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Locate fires using compass bearings and distance estimates
  • Read weather monitoring devices and understand fire weather characteristics
  • Operate two-way radios and communications equipment with confidence
  • Work safely at heights and in isolated locations in all weather conditions
  • Be autonomous and work effectively without supervision

Requirements:

  • Be physically fit and pass a pre-employment medical/functional capacity assessment
  • Hold a current driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
  • Have or be able to obtain working at heights training certification
