Lead Dairy Production Specialist

We seek a seasoned professional to lead our dairy production team in NSW. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in milk production, reproductive programs, and herd management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement efficient milking shed routines, ensuring optimal milk quality and quantity.
  • Implement and monitor reproductive programs, artificial insemination, and fertility management strategies.
  • Assist in controlled breeding experiments to develop improved livestock strains, leveraging data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Manage pasture and crop resources for livestock production, creating sustainable feeding plans that meet nutritional needs.
  • Analyze produce quality, establishing and maintaining high standards across the operation.
  • Supervise animal health programs, handling sick or injured animals, and maintaining a healthy environment for livestock well-being.
  • Oversee work routines and staff performance of less experienced employees, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Operate milking plant and equipment, interpreting data and recording metrics accurately.
  • Calf feeding, including colostrum administration, to ensure optimal growth and development.
  • Support irrigation works and inspect livestock to assess feed formula effectiveness.
  • Handle and store chemicals safely, preparing and applying them as required.
  • Operate farm and dairy shed-related vehicles, equipment, and technology.
  • Maintain accurate records for stock and inventory control, informing business decisions.
  • Ensure food safety regulations are met, adhering to industry best practices.
