Ecologist Professional

Our NSW team is expanding its impact assessment and renewables capabilities, making this an exciting opportunity for experienced Ecologists to join our Sydney and Newcastle offices.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental surveys and impact assessments for terrestrial ecosystems, focusing on flora and fauna, biodiversity, and habitat.
  • Assist in and supervise field surveys, including terrestrial flora and fauna identification.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports that meet client expectations.
  • Identify issues and develop effective solutions in collaboration with the team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in environmental consultancy or the public sector, with a strong background in ecological surveys and report production.
  • Proficient understanding and application of relevant legislation governing ecological projects.
  • Excellent flora and fauna identification skills.
  • Proficient in using information technology, including Microsoft Office software and relevant field equipment.
  • Experience working on various environmental planning projects.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Comprehensive interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • A valid driver's license is essential, and 4WD experience and accreditation are an advantage.
  • Project management skills are preferred but not essential.
