Senior Medical Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Officer to join our team at Griffith Base Hospital. As a Medical Officer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our hospital's services.
About the Role
As a Medical Officer, you will be responsible for providing first-line medical care to patients presenting to the hospital, including assessment, investigation, treatment, and referral for ongoing non-inpatient care or admission/transfer for inpatient care and discharge of patients. You will work closely with our consultant specialists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, investigation, treatment, and referral for ongoing non-inpatient care or admission/transfer for inpatient care and discharge of patients.
Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, including consultant specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
Contribute to the development of our hospital's services, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of new policies and procedures.
Requirements
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team.
Adept written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members, and other members of the healthcare team.
Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
