Safety and Compliance Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Safety and Compliance Specialist. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing site-specific safety plans, delivering training and practical WHS advice to staff and subcontractors, conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current WHS legislation and compliance requirements. They will work closely with our site-based teams to ensure that all relevant regulations are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing site-specific safety plans
  • Delivering training and practical WHS advice to staff and subcontractors
  • Conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
  • Building relationships across project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Leading incident investigations and helping close the loop on corrective actions

Requirements include:

  • Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (a must)
  • 2+ years' experience in a HSE role on commercial or residential construction sites
  • Strong knowledge of current WHS legislation and compliance requirements
  • Previous experience on unit builds or large-scale commercial projects is ideal
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, hands-on attitude
