About the Role:
The Service Manager will be responsible for providing exceptional service and support to our customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty. This role requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to effectively manage and coordinate service activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly communicate with customers to establish their level of satisfaction and provide quotations for equipment repair.
- Liaise with the purchasing team to ensure timely receipt of orders from suppliers.
- Oversee and conduct condition reports on equipment and inspect components.
- Ensure that all outsourced service repair work is competitively priced and completed to the required quality standard.
- Commission new machine installations and maintain the workshop to the highest standard.
- Ensure that all work is completed on time and to the required standard of quality.
- Register service jobs in the ERP system and allocate parts correctly.
- Plan and document requirements for safe and efficient job completion.
- On completion of each service job, gather costs and ensure accurate invoicing.
- Notify the Engineering Department of significant changes made to equipment.
- Report progress and expected completion dates for service jobs.
- Handle and report disputes with customers that may affect cash flow.
- Conduct market research and analyze customer needs.
- Manage service technicians and provide leadership, technical advice, and product training.
- Participate in performance reviews and investigate accidents.
- Contribute to the overall improvement of health and safety in the workplace.
Requirements:
- Mechanical trade or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a mechanical fitter with proven people management skills.
- Experience in the mineral crushing and screening industry is preferred.
- Computer literacy in MS Suite and experience with ERP systems is highly regarded.
- This role requires travel.
