Job Title: Disability Support Professional

Responsibilities:

The Disability Support Professional will provide support, assistance, and care to individuals with complex needs. Their duties may include:


  • Helping individuals achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills, and budgeting.
  • Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
  • Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning, and facilitating community connection by socializing and going on outings.
  • Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies, or accompanying to an appointment.
  • Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:


  • A calm, compassionate, and professional approach.
  • Experience in epilepsy management and supporting people with intellectual disabilities and complex behaviors.
  • Knowledge of stoma and bowel care is beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided.
  • A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including multiple sleepovers per week.
  • Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check, and an open Drivers License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
