About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to join our team in Victoria. As an Environmental Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering environmental impact assessments and environmental planning work across various sectors. You will work closely with our team of environmental planners, scientists, ecologists, social consultants, and archaeologists to provide expert advice and support to our clients.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the preparation and conduct of environmental impact assessments
- Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting environmental data from various sources
- Ensuring that projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards
- Assisting in the planning and coordination of environmental projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources
- Engaging with stakeholders to gather input and address concerns
- Preparing detailed reports, including findings, recommendations, and mitigation strategies, for clients and regulatory bodies
- Assisting in the development and implementation of environmental management plans to mitigate adverse environmental impacts
- Conducting site visits and inspections to monitor environmental conditions and compliance with regulations
- Assisting in the development and implementation of proposals for new projects, including scope of work, methodology, and cost estimates
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A degree qualification in environmental science, planning, or a related discipline
- 1-5 years' experience in a consulting environment, ideally as an Environmental Scientist or Planner
- Strong technical aptitude and project management skills
- Adaptability to undertake a range of technical work based on project requirements
- Interest and aptitude in working across multiple disciplines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain positive team and client relationships
- Understanding of and demonstrated experience in approvals and environmental assessments under Victorian legislation
- Consulting experience or expertise in specialized environmental fields is advantageous
