Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a strategic and people-focused quarry manager to lead our quarry operations.

This role involves overseeing all functionalities of the quarry, including cost control, production planning, drill and blast, and customer experience. You will partner with internal stakeholders and the wider community to drive meaningful relationships and identify areas for growth and process improvements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Promoting and enforcing safety and environmental processes
  • Effective management of daily operations, including cost control and production in line with quality and forecasts
  • Working with sales teams to deliver revenue expectations
  • People leadership, including hands-on management of staff and contractors
  • Ensuring the site meets current licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to strategic planning and execution of short-term and long-term capital works and maintenance

Requirements include:

  • 5 years of experience in mining or quarrying
  • Strong knowledge of quarry health and safety regulations
  • Strong knowledge of pit planning, slope stability, and quarry geotechnical awareness
  • Strong knowledge of hard rock quarrying and crushing processes
  • Ability to understand financial performance and manage budgets
  • Proven leadership experience in quarrying operations or mining
  • Strong leadership attributes, including initiative to identify, manage, and solve issues as they arise
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, including controlling expenditure and costs
  • Appropriate quarry management qualifications and/or tertiary qualifications
