About the Role

The Darling Downs South West Region offers a unique opportunity to lead kindergarten curriculum in rural and remote schools. As Head of Department (Curriculum), you will work as part of the State Delivered Kindergarten team to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all children in the early years.

This role is responsible for leading kindergarten curriculum in the context of the whole school program. Key tasks include:

  • Embedding socially just practices in daily school life;
  • Actively participating in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development;
  • Forming partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.

This position fulfills the Department of Education's legislative obligations to provide access to a qualified early childhood teacher for relevant schools with approved kindergarten programs.

Mandatory Requirements

To be successful in this role, applicants must have:

  • ACECQA recognised early childhood teacher qualifications;
  • Current full registration, or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
