Senior Lawyer Opportunities in Government Compliance

We are seeking experienced Senior Lawyers to join our team in Sydney, NSW.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statutory interpretation and government compliance, with the ability to provide pragmatic guidance to the organisation.

Key responsibilities include advising the Executive team on regulatory compliance obligations, interpreting legislation, and reviewing commercial contracts.

The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills, confidence to deal effectively at senior executive level, and superior written and verbal communication skills.

An initial 6-month labour hire contract is on offer, with full-time and part-time working hours available.

This role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role

This Senior Lawyer position is based in Sydney, NSW, with flexible working from home arrangements considered.

Please note that only Australian citizens can be considered for this role.

  • Advising the Executive team on regulatory compliance obligations
  • Interpreting legislation and providing pragmatic guidance to the organisation
  • Reviewing, drafting, negotiating and monitoring commercial contracts
  • Supervising, mentoring and guiding junior lawyers
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 8+ years post-admission experience, currently at a senior associate level or higher with a valid practising certificate
  • Experience in statutory interpretation, government compliance, Freedom of Information and Privacy matters
  • Competent contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, confidence to deal effectively at senior executive level
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
