This is an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable children and young people. We are seeking candidates who can provide direct service delivery through individual, family, and/or group counselling.

About the Role

We deliver intensive prevention and early intervention services for children, young people, and their families who are at high risk of child abuse and/or neglect.

You will be responsible for providing direct service delivery, maintaining systematic processes for case planning and case management, and using various strategies to engage hard-to-reach families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct service delivery through intensive case management and support
  • Provide direct service delivery through individual, family, and/or group counselling
  • Maintain systematic processes for case planning and case management
  • Use a variety of strategies to engage hard-to-reach families, particularly Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families
Requirements

We require candidates with tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Social Science, or Human Services.

Candidates must have sound knowledge of and demonstrated experience in providing counselling/therapy to children and young people, as well as demonstrated knowledge of childhood development and behavioural management strategies with an emphasis on issues related to trauma, abuse, and attachment.

It is highly desirable that you have qualifications and experience in Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT).
